Why Children Love Star Wars and Harry Potter Legos
63Since Legos were first introduced during the 1930's this building toy
has remained popular with many, many children. They were first made in
Denmark by Ole Kirk Christiansen as a basic building toy but the last
few years have seen an enormous increase in Legos based on movies. From
Star Wars Legos to Indiana Jones and Harry Potter Legos this plastic
building toy grows in popularity every day.
Brightly colored
plastic blocks for young children are perfect for them to develop
manipulation and building skills. Young adults and older children will
be happiest with the complex, themed sets with their enormous selection
of difficult models to assemble.
Among the most popular Legos is the Star Wars sets which have developed considerably since their introduction in the latter part of the 1990's, with sets and figurines from the original Star Wars trilogy. Since that time all the Star Wars series of movies has been closely followed by Lego including vehicles, scenes and figures. Figurines are the characteristic blocks with square bodies and heads which are made with specially designed Star Wars molds. All the Star Wars characters are represented including, of course, the major characters in an assortment of clothes and poses, including Luke Skywalker complete with light saber and a set representing the transformation of Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader.
A huge range of vehicles are available including Star Wars X Wing fighters, Clone Wars turbo tanks, Star Fighters and the popular and intricate Death Star. Star Wars Legos continue to be the most popular sets produced.
Another very popular series is the Harry Potter Lego sets and you can assemble
reproductions of Hogwarts Castle and Professor Dumbledore's office as
well as play Quidditch or ride on the Hogwarts Express. Figures in this
series include Harry Potter in a variety of outfits. Professor Snape,
Hagrid, Ron Weasley, Hermione and all the other well loved characters..
Also offered are trolls and dementors. Harry Potter Legos are among the most popular sets produced.
As well as movie themes Lego also make other sets to stir the
imagination of any child including knights and castles, dinosaurs,
robots and space vehicles and hundreds more. For the more technically
minded you can buy Lego Technics that are based on actual working
machines or trucks. These are more complex to build and may include
suspension and steering systems. They are made for a range of abilities
so you might want to start with a more basic set and progress to harder
sets as your skills improve.
Legos for girls are a good idea so that your daughter or grandaughter can have her own special sets. There are pink lego building blocks and a range of sets specifically designed for girls. She might like the Beach House or Dream Cottage or the Poolside Paradise or Belville Royal Summer Palace sets. There are also sets featuring Princesses, fairies and horseriding.
Legos are continuing to increase
in popularity as these high quality building toys, that are loved by
children the world over, continue to be developed. In this huge range
there is sure to be the perfect set of Legos for your child!

I wish I had a picture of the Harry Potter Lego Statue at the Vermont Toy and Hobby shop. It would go perfectly with your hub.
There might be a picture of it online, I'll link it to you if I find it.
